SERC: Citizen Training, Common Birds
Get involved locally! Citizen surveys are scientific field surveys headed by group leaders that are professionals or experts in their field. You will be taking data and conducting research in the forests, streams, and fields of SERC to help us get a better understanding of the biodiversity of the site. Join us to learn how to identify common birds of Maryland and conduct bird surveys for our site. Designed for intermediate birders and those interested in learning more about birding. If you have binoculars and a field guide, bring them. A limited number are available to borrow. For ages 12+, preregistration required (443) 482.2300. Free. Physical requirements will be mildly strenuous with hiking up to 1.5 miles.
